Hideaway bins has always focused on designing quality products that are robust and durable. Because they are built to last, Hideaway Bins do not need to be replaced prematurely and are a more sustainable use of resources. We design our bins so that they can either be repaired or components like plastic buckets can be fully recycled at the end of their life.
At Kitchen King®, we take pride in responsibly recycling and re-using products to minimise the impact on the environment. With the push towards the management of waste and recycling never having been stronger, Kitchen King supports the belief that as a leading manufacturing company, we need to be responsible for our actions and the effect on the environment.
We have put a number of different practices into place to ensure that our environmental impact is reduced and that our products are environmentally friendly. This includes ensuring that cardboard and plastic packaging for our bin components are re-used time and time again. All waste cardboard or plastic packaging is sent for recycling, while any metal rejects are sent away for recycling.
Our plastic buckets are made with virgin materials, giving them maximum durability, yet are still completely recyclable at the end of their life cycle. Any waste during the moulding process is reground for reuse in other components.
Polystyrene has been removed from all Hideaway packaging and been replaced with kraft paper and cardboard to make it easier for our customers to recycle.
Hideaway Bins are delighted to have achieved Global GreenTag™ GreenRate Level C certification for our Hideaway Compact waste bins, Concelo waste bins and Concelo laundry hampers.
It's an important milestone for our business and our customers - a mark of credibility and responsibility, showcasing our commitment to sustainability.
We are passionate advocates for enabling better waste behaviours at work and at home. Through smart design and education we help our customers reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill, and increase the amount that is diverted to recycling or composting.
Our waste management guide helps customers choose the right bin for their lifestyle, whilst helping them consider what will be best for the environment.
In commercial spaces like office kitchens, we strive to make it easy for staff to seperate waste into recycling and composting, and to minimise what goes to landfill.
For example, the installation of Concelo 1 x35L bin side by side is an innovative solution for separating waste and recycling. Once the bin has been used to dispose of waste or recycling, the unit slides away out of sight keeping the room clear of clutter. The units are manufactured from high quality materials to ensure that they will withstand the challenges posed in a busy commercial environment.
At home, space is often at a premium, and it may be difficult to fit more than a standard twin bin system into a kitchen design. We have deliberately designed a number of our bin systems so they can stack inside a standard height kitchen cabinet. Stack the Concelo 2x13L in a 350mm cabinet to get 52L of total waste capacity. Or choose the larger Concelo 2x15L which provides 60L of total capacity in a 400mm cabinet when stacked together.
Our new CR600 models provide 4 buckets in one unit, making recycling easy.
